The Quiet Weight of Time
Time leaves its mark quietly.
In The Quiet Weight of Time, an ancient fallen tree stretches across the forest floor, its weathered trunk becoming the central presence within a landscape still alive with colour and light. Behind it, autumn foliage glows in muted golds, ochres and deep rusts, while shafts of softer light filter through the surrounding trees.
The fallen trunk carries a sense of permanence even in its decay. Its dark, weathered surface contrasts with the luminous foliage behind it, creating a visual conversation between what has passed and what continues to grow.
Touches of moss and small vegetation emerge around the old wood, suggesting that nature does not simply end — it transforms. The forest gradually absorbs what once stood tall, turning age and decay into part of a continuing cycle.
The painting is an exploration of time, impermanence and renewal — a reminder that even in stillness, nature is constantly changing.
